Virgin Media wireless broadband cut to £5 a month
Written by Anonymous on 12:19 AMVirgin has announced plans to reduce broadband for customers who want wireless connections to just five pounds a month ensuring that the group offers the cheapest broadband package on the market. However the reduced fee only relates to those already in receipt of Virgin Media broadband in their home.
It appears that Virgin Mobile broadband, which has come in for some serious criticism over the last few weeks, will be seriously revamped over the coming months as the group attempts to offset some bad press of late. The group has come under pressure from the likes of O2 who have made it known that they believe their mobile broadband service is far superior to any other on the market at the moment.
This move coincides with an O2 report which suggests that 10% of mobile broadband users claim they were mis-sold the service, 20% are disappointed at the coverage available, 13% are unhappy at the lock in period and over 50% have demanded Wi-Fi hotspot access as standard. On the surface mobile broadband seems to be growing in popularity but in truth the service does not appear on the whole to be fulfilling the expectations and demands of consumers.
