Airspan and Stutler to rebuild wireless network in Kansas

Airspan Networks has said that its partner Stutler Technologies has won a contract from Haviland Telephone Company to rebuild the wireless network after its near complete destruction from an EF5 tornado on May 4, 2007 in Greensburg and Kiowa County, Kansas. Airspan's 3.65GHz WiMAX equipment will form the foundation of the deployment.

Haviland Telephone Company will be responsible for the deployment, operation and management of the county-wide WiMAX system.

According to Airspan, the WiMAX network, operating in the public 3.65GHz band, will consist of base stations located in the highest points of the county, which will communicate with Airspan subscriber units placed in businesses and residential homes.

Stutler Technologies is a system integrator for wireless equipment manufacturers and provides RF, telephony, networking and tower services as well as continued customer network education and support.

They not only understood the system requirements of the project and offered the best WiMAX equipment, but also shared our vision in supplying this community a robust, high-capacity network that will connect them to each other, across the county and to the rest of the world."

Earlier in October, Airspan has launched a new suite of mobile WiMAX subscriber products to address the requirements of subscribers for highcapacity Internet connectivity, VoIP and Wi-Fi capabilities.
